Every forge needs a fire. Ours started in a dingy basement with worn-out mats and a dream to build something real.
Founder & Head Combat Instructor
Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished origin story. Started competing at 16, got my face rearranged more times than I can count. Spent eight years on the amateur circuit, then another five coaching out of wherever would let me use the space.
2018 rolled around and I was tired of seeing gyms that either babied people or broke 'em down without purpose. Wanted to build a place where you could push yourself hard but smart. Where the training actually made sense for real fights, not just Instagram clips.
Jade Venom Forge opened with six members and a lease I probably shouldn't have signed. Now we've got fighters competing nationally, everyday folks who can actually defend themselves, and a community that shows up for each other.
We're not the fanciest gym in Vancouver. Don't have saunas or smoothie bars. What we've got is legit instruction, equipment that works, and people who genuinely care about your progress.
This isn't just a catchy slogan we slapped on the wall. It's the philosophy behind every session we run.
Simple - teach people how to actually fight, not just look like they can. Whether you're prepping for your first amateur bout or just want to feel confident walking home at night, we're gonna give you skills that work under pressure.
Combat training should make you sharper, tougher, and more aware. Not just sore. We focus on functional movement, real techniques, and conditioning that translates outside the gym.
Everyone who walks through that door gets treated seriously. Don't care if you're 18 or 58, we'll meet you where you're at and push you forward.
Been in this game long enough to know what works. Fancy techniques are cool until you're exhausted and someone's pressuring you. That's why we drill fundamentals until they're second nature.
Real fighting isn't clean. It's messy, it's tiring, and it requires mental toughness as much as physical skill. Our training reflects that - high intensity, scenario-based, and honest.
We build fighters who can adapt, think under stress, and keep going when their body's screaming to quit. That mindset carries over into everything else you do.
Everything we teach has been tested. In the cage, on the mats, in competition. If it doesn't work under pressure, we don't waste your time with it.
We'll tell you straight up where you're at and what you need to work on. No smoke blown, no false praise. Just real feedback that helps you improve.
Leave the tough-guy attitude at the door. We've got beginners training next to fighters, and everyone helps each other level up. That's the culture we've built.
Track your progress, test your skills, and see actual improvement. We're not here to collect membership fees - we're here to make you dangerous.
Don't wait for the perfect moment. It doesn't exist. Come in, try a class, see if this is the right fit for you.
